East Elementary and its Community
The East Elementary School is part of the East Central School District. The East Central School District is located in a small populated rural region of the state. This school district consists of two (k-5) elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools. The student population for the year of 2018-1019 was a total of 1,010. The schools are typically diverse, with a percentage of 20% Hispanic, 35% African American, 10% Native American, 30% white, and 5% other. Overall, East Central School District is considered a C level school district, while East Elementary School is a B level elementary school. East Elementary School building is a 20-year-old physicality with some modern arrangements that make learning fun. East Elementary School has a medium-size library located in the central part of the school, which makes it easy to asses for both students and staff use. The library space is brightened with natural lighting with window space designed for natural light. The structure of the library is design for learning and research.

The Librarians Role
The School library and the librarian should be an essential asset to the school. The School librarian should bring relativity and modern information to schools for teacher and student use. In the school, the librarian should make his or her presense known by encouraging collaboration amongst teachers and staff. “The School librarian must accept the responsibility for leadership in creating a new program or planning new facilities, the implantation of inquiring learning, and building a desire for lifelong learning” (Woolls, 14).
Censorship
The library likes to encourage the enjoyment of reading students are free to crack open a book and enjoy its pleasantries.
